Sustainable packaging Reuse highlights from Europe and Finland

The PlastTalk webinar held on 4 June 2025 will focus on reusable packaging as a driver of circular economy objectives and plastic waste reduction through innovative policies and initiatives across Europe.

This expert-level event, organised by the PlastLIFE SIP project, will explore the growing role of reuse in addressing plastic waste. As global concern over single-use plastics mounts, the webinar will examine how reuse can significantly reduce demand for virgin materials and help meet EU circular economy objectives. Participants will gain insights into how reuse promotes systemic change, enabling innovative design, reverse logistics and more sustainable business models.

Drawing on success stories from Belgium, the Netherlands and Finland, the event will highlight practical reuse initiatives and the regulatory push behind them. Speakers will address how countries are aligning with EU waste directives, developing national circular economy laws and transforming everyday practices such as food take-away through reuse. The programme includes contributions from key experts involved in the PlastLIFE SIP project, as well as other projects like Reusify and Cmartlife, showcasing how reuse solutions are being scaled across sectors to support a litter-free, resource-efficient future.
